Biography

Gunnar joined Hertz Farm Management in January 2025 as a Professional Farm Manager in the Geneseo, IL office. In this role, he manages farms and evaluates markets for landowners in Northern Illinois. 

 

Gunnar graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2024 with a B.S. in Agriculture and Consumer Economics. During his time at Illinois, he was actively involved in various clubs, was a nation champion soil judger, studied abroad in Brazil, competed as an AA Collegiate Trap and Skeet Shooter, and lived at Nabor House. Throughout his life he worked on his grandfather's farm, where he developed his passion for agriculture and the outdoors. In addition to farming, Gunnar worked as a part-time student engineer at John Deere Harvester for two years. He also spent his final year of college focusing on crop insurance and carbon intensity scoring for Ag Perspective.
